Long Tune/Urtin Duu of Zarud region in Inner Mongolia belongings to Horqin typical kind of folk songs,In recent years, with the Mongolian Urtin Duu being on World Heritage List, the academic study of Urtin Duu becomes increasingly popular. However,there is very little research for of Zarud region’s Mongolian Urtin Duu. In order to fill this gap and do the combing and research work, the author traveled Zarud pastoral areas, visited folk artists and collected the local Mongolia Urtin Duu to address the root of Zarud Urtin Duu, and put it back to its interest-bearing environment for its development, and do a in-depth research of its unique music form and singing style.Zarud region is located in the northern end of the Horqin sandy land; it is a typical area of farming-pastoral of Inner Mongolia. As we all know, the existence and development of the Mongolian Urtin Duu mainly relies on the living environment and nomadic lifestyle. With the transited. By visiting folk artists in Zarud region, this article traces the history and culture of the Zarud region, analyzes the evolution of folk songs, and learns about transition the local the Mongolian Urtin Duu facing as a traditional music culture in the process of inheritance in today’s rapid economic development and cultural fusion.By Describing and exploring the changing process of Zarud Urtin Duu in its diversification, and the difficulties and challenges the Zarud Urtin Duu faced in the process of diverse cultural blend, this article attempts to find effective measures to promote the study and protection and of the theory of local traditional culture, and a balance between economic development and the protection and development of traditional culture. This paper is composed of five parts. The first is the introduction, include topics of reason, the background, significance of research at home and abroad with the Urtin Duu, progress and development trend, and research methods used in this paper. The first chapter is the study area, contains Zarud region’s physical geography, the history, region, social and economic profile. Chapters Ⅱ and Ⅲ are the focus of this article, mainly elaborated and record the classification of the current Zarud Urtin Duu, the heritage overview and analysis of the Zarud Urtin Duu musical form, and empirical analysis of its formation characteristics and the transiting process of cultural transition, including transition, in singing form and singing method as well as the impact of transition, in the environment to the Zarud Urtin Duu. This article gives systematic exposition to the contemporary situation of the Zarud Urtin Duu and its heritage means of communication should be taken, and also what effective measure have and should be taken by local government and cultural centers promote and develop Zarud Urtin Duu.This article ends with conclusion with profound discussion of the entire paper.
