“Close to life, studying useful geography in life” is one of the most basic concept ofthe new geography curriculum standards, which fully affirmed that geography is closelylinked with our life。Basic concept of geography teaching,"to learn geography useful fordailylife and lifelong development " which was put forward in geography curriculumstandards. New standards also advocate geography teaching being into life.“Geography beinginto life” is one of the most important topics in present geography teaching. Many way andmethods are inluded, such as, how to integration geography into life, how to close to life andcontact with life, how to help students to improve geographic literacy, and how to help themmaster and applicate geography knowledge about their survival and development。Geography,a part of life, helps people to live better. Therefore, implementation ofgeography being into life is an inevitable trend. Positive verification can be brought bypractical education. Traditional exam-oriented education divorces from reality, whichseriously limites the development of students subjectivity. Middle school students with somelife experiences, are developing rapidly in their psychology and thinking. So it is feasible forthem to carry out vivid and perceptual teaching. geography teachers aim to cultivate practicalstudents with abilities of life connection and resolving actual problems. Geography being intolife is beneficial to realization of this aim. Teaching materials of Geography come form life,so teaching contents are also suitable to develop life-oriented teaching.In this artical, weanalyze setheoretical basis of life-oriented geography teaching, present situation and problemsfrom home and abroad. In the perspective of theory and practice, we actively explore mesuresof life-oriented geography teaching。Firstly, this article expounds the connotation of life-oriented teaching. Based on theConstructivism Learning Theory, Dewey’s Child-centered Theory, Tao Xingzhi’s Theory ofLife Education, combining New Course Standards and teacher development community, werepresented the background and basis of Geographic teaching to Life in Middle School.Secondly, problems in practical teaching which can not be ignored are pointed out, throughdiscussing development status of Geographic teaching to Life at home and abroad. Finally,Combining with practical experience and obligation orientation of terchers and students inLDC Theory there are two problems will be analyzed, that is,(1),how to improve teachers’ initiative and how to guide students to realize life-oriented teaching;(2),specific way andattentions in practice. All the data shows that geography teaching into life is recommendablemode with strong operability and effectiveness. Under the background of quality education inChina, Geographic teaching to Life in middle school complys with the demand of the times,which will be a pattern practiced willingly by teachers. This pattern, with constantdevelopment and improvement, will be widely used in other disciplines.
