The school leaders have realized that it is impossible to lead the school continuous improvement by an individual leader under the situation of complex teaching and learning and the strong demands of the students’ personalized development. The school leaders can hardly do without the teacher’s support and cooperation. The core work is still the curriculum and teaching matters in schools, to empower the teachers is a common practice, therefor it is necessary to study teachers’ curriculum leadership.Teachers’ curriculum leadership is a process that teachers have an impact of curriculum matters (including:building curriculum vision, making the curriculum plans, making decision for curriculum reform, adapting or modifying curriculum content, carrying out curriculum research, reflecting and evaluation curriculum effectiveness, etc.) to change the others (or themselves) values and behavior of curriculum matters for improving the quality of the school curriculum, enhancing the students’ achievement, promoting professional development of teachers. Leadership involves those teachers who take formal and informal leadership position.This study questioned that what curriculum power and responsibilities the teachers should take and how they can practice; furthermore, if the teacher obtain professional development, the pupils make the progress on their learning on the perspective of distributed leadership theory. Teacher questionnaire surveys and interviews in a demonstration high school in Beijing were conducted to analysis their current situation of teachers’ curriculum leadership and the effect and the difficulties, combined domestic and foreign research present results, propose improved strategy. This paper shows that it is efficient for school, pupils and teachers to implement teachers’curriculum leadership.Not only should the school leaders empower the teachers appropriate curriculum matters rights and become the followers,but also to build the platform for implementation and mechanism for guarantee, to establish participatory, collaborative and shared culture in school,team and classroom, to maximize the teachers’wisdom and potential, improve teachers’ curriculum leadership.
