There are many selected illustrations in the Science textbooks published byZhejiang Education Publishing House. However, many teachers often directly show theillustrations’ information to students based on their teaching experiences during thelimited classroom time, which leads students to given up the opportunity to carefullyread these illustrations. In fact, in the Science classroom teaching, since teachers lacka system teaching strategy on the textbook illustrations, many students ignore theseimportant teaching resources, which weaken the function of illustrations on teaching.This thesis focuses on the field of Science teaching of junior middle schools. Itsystematically and comprehensively studies on the use of textbook illustrations in thescience teaching strategies of junior middle schools by mainly using the literatureanalysis, questionnaire, and case study methods. Also, it combines with the teachingeffectiveness research at home and abroad, as well as our teaching practice. It showsthe general strategy of the use of illustrations in teaching from the three aspects onillustrations: understanding, analysis, application. In addition, it also discusses the usepoints of different classes of illustrations in teaching.This thesis is composed of five parts.The first part, describes the current scientific classroom teaching faces newenvironment and background, at the same time, defines some basic concepts in thisarticle. At the same time, from the research purpose, research questions, researchmethods and research lines aspects presents the research and practice operationprocess.The second part, study textbook illustrations. Illustrations of the research fromthe illustration of the types and illustrated the function of two angles.The third part, investigation and study. From a textbook illustration of the statusof the investigation, understand the students attitude to textbook illustrations, alsoknow the student to the textbook illustrations information access to the status quo.The fourth part, the strategy research. Contains illustrations use should follow thebasic principles of interpretation, using the basic form and illustration of the basic cognitive processes, the use of the basic strategy, etc.The last part, the experiment research. After strategy research, undertake to thestudent after the test, compare before and after the test, analysis of experimentalresults.The main contributions of this thesis are:(1) It interprets the illustrations in the Science textbooks of junior middle schoolfrom the types and functions of illustrations.(2) It analyzes the basic principle and form for the use of illustrations in Scienceteaching;(3) It gives the basic strategy for illustrations in Science teaching;(4) It discusses the applications strategy for different types of illustrations.
