Quality is the lifeline of higher education, how to improve the teaching quality isan eternal theme of higher education. Teaching administration as a key link in thedaily affairs management of higher education is an important guarantee to maintainnormal teaching order and raise teaching quality.As a new school-running mode, independent college boosts the highereducation’s conversion from elite education to mass education, meanwhile it isexperiencing the transformation from scale expansion to quality improvement, and itsteaching administration is confronted with unprecedented opportunities andchallenges. Therefore, the study of how to strengthen teaching management thuspromoting teaching quality has immense significance both in theory and practice.This thesis, combining theoretical research with empirical research, employs themethods such as literature consult, interviews and questionnaires to analyze thecurrent situation of teaching plan, teaching implementation, teaching evaluation andteaching management in independent colleges in Chongqing. It reveals the problemsas emphasizing the formulation of teaching plan while neglecting the operation,stressing the management of teaching implementation while underestimating theteaching service, valuing the result of teaching evaluation while slighting the process,and analyzes the causes involved.Based on the overall analysis, this thesis in allusion to the main problems inteaching administration puts forward some effective suggestions to improve teachingmanagement. These suggestions include being in accordance with the market change,updating the teaching managing concept, positioning scientifically, beingpeople-oriented and establishing distinctive teaching management pattern. Moreover,the target management and process management should be integrated, the teachingquality evaluation system should be improved, the incentive system should be more complete and effective, and the professional construction of teaching managementteam should be promoted.
