Since the implemented of the western development strategy, per capita income of rural residents in Gansu province is growing rapidly. But the growth rates among regions is different, and the development gap is large. Rural residents income gap is not only the economic problems, more important is probably cause all kinds of social contradictions, it has become the difficult problems that must to face in economic and social development of Gansu province. Want to achieve the healthy and stable development of the economic society, Gansu province must analysis and find the reason of income gap of rural residents, and then take comprehensive measures to curb and narrow the income gap.The article analyzed the grow process of per capita net income of rural residents in Gansu province at frist, and then based on this chose10years of last stage analysised the gap of per capita net income of rural residents. It’s mainly includes the dynamics analysising of total income gap of rural residents, dynamics analysising of rural residents income gap among three regions and dynamics analysising of rural residents income gap among14cities and states. Finally did decomposition analysis of rural residents income gap from the reasons of rural residents income gap caused.The main conclusions:the growth rate of per capita net income of rural residents in Gansu province is far less than the growth rate of per capita GDP, and the rate it shared in GDP is going down. The dynamic analysis of per capita net income gap of rural residents showed that total per capita net income gap of rural residents in Gansu province is small, in the "Comparative average" range, but the gap between per capita net income of rural residents of Gansu and the national average level is widening; rural residents income gap among three regions is narrowing; the absolute gap of per capita net income of rural residents among14cities and states is expanding, and expended faster and faster, and the relative gap had a narrowing trend. The Theil index decomposition of income gap showed that the total gap of per capita net income of rural residents isn’t very large, and it narrowed gradually; the gap among three regions is the decisive factor of overall net income gap. The decomposition of income composition showed that family business income is still the main source of per capita net income; salary income’s proportion in net income is increased year by year. The quantitative analysis of influence factors of net income gap showed that per capita cultivated land area, the proportion of agricultural output in GDP, population urbani-zation urbanization rate and the proportion of non-agricultural labour are major factors that effect of per capita income gap of rural residents. Finally, the paper put forward some countermeasures of rural residents income increasing and income gap narrowing based on the above research conclusions.
