Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a free trade agreement founded by Singapore,New Zealand, Chile and Brunei in2006. Because of Obama’s announcement ofattending the agreement’s negotiating, TPP has drawn the world’s attention. As amatter of fact, whether is the "Pacific Community" raised by president Bush after thecold war, or the "New Pacific Community" proposed by president Clinton, or the"Free Trade Agreement of the Asia Pacifica" propelled by president George W Bush, all these strategies as well as Obama’s commitment to the TPP have proved thatleading the Asia Pacific economic integration process and controlling East Asiaintegration has always been one of America’s constant goals. For Obamaadministration, joining TPP is also the key to realize his export strategy. The U.S.attending and expanding TPP has great significance. It will not only boost the AsiaPacific multilateral free trade, but also establish the standards for future regionaleconomic cooperation. Moreover, TPP’s chain effect will bring America hugeeconomic and political benefits. However, the Obama administration has to facecertain challenges from the congress, from the future negotiating and also from otherregional powers. But the most important is from the moment that president Obamamaking the announcement, the U.S. has begun harvesting interests. Therefore, nomatter TPP could reach a “super agreement” or not, the U.S. has displayed itsinfluence.
