Study On Construction Path Of Low-carbon Tourist City

Low-carbon city is an effective measure to tackle climate change. As a main partof functions of a city, tourism plays an active role on the low-carbon transition of thecity. Building up a low-carbon tourist city is a highlighted signal that a tourist cityresponds to trend of low-carbon under the guidance of low-carbon economy.Lintong District is an important loading area of Xi’AN metropolis andinternational tourist destination. In order to speed up the developmental pace oftourism and upgrade the tourist quality of the city, LinTong district utilizes andexploits itself for the aim of building up “Xi’an Lintong National Travel and LeisureHoliday Resort” in compliance with low-carbon economic developmental trend for thepast few years. Moreover, Lintong district also throws itself into building up alow-carbon tourist city for the realization of resources-saving andenvironmentally-friendly sustainable development.First, this thesis will summarize relevant research findings from home and abroadabout the low-carbon tourist city and define low-carbon tourist city based on thesefindings. Then by using of such theories as low-carbon economy theory, sustainabledevelopment theory and City tourism competitiveness theory analyze the low carbontourist city’s action areas, influencing factors, types of patterns and the formationpower.The thesis put forward the mode of action of low-carbon tourism in theconstruction of low-carbon tourist city and the development model by which the lowcarbon tourism promoting the transformation of low-carbon city. Then establish thebasis of the path of building a low-carbon tourist city.At last, this thesis points outadvantages and disadvantages of building up Lintong as a low-carbon tourist city by use of such theories as low-carbon economy, sustainable development and circulareconomy, puts forward way of thinking and principles of building up Lintong as alow-carbon tourist city by taking practical experience of cities at abroad during thelow-carbon transition for reference and comes up with five ways of building upLintong as a low-carbon tourist city in view of the existing problem, that is, Drawingup a scientific developmental plan; enhancing the construction of tourist facilities ofthe city; enriching the diversity of tourist resources; building up the brand image of thecity; transforming the way of low-carbon consumption.The research findings of this thesis not only provides a concrete and feasiblemethod and path for building up lintong as a low-carbon tourist city but offers atheoretical foundation for other tourist cities or attractions to develop low-carbontourism, realize low-carbon transition and boost low-carbon economy.
