A Study On The Development Model Of Low-carbon Tourism Of Xinzhou

In recent years, the development of low-carbon tourism in theswing, caused the attention from the industry and tourists. Lowcarbon tourism is in focus because of the low carbon economydevelopment recently.The concept of low-carbon economy was firstput forward in a World Economic Forum (WEF) report named toward alow-carbon travel and tourism. On December,2009, the State Councilreleased on accelerating the development of tourism, in which itclearly promotes low-carbon economy. Copenhagen conference in2009further promoted the cause of low-carbon economy. Since thereform and opening up, China economy develop rapidly, however, theclimate environment problem has plagued us. In this context, thedevelopment of low-carbon tourism is especially important. Afterentering the21st century, China’s tourism has become a pillarindustry and new growth point of national economy, which requiresthe tourism industry to adapt to the request of the ages, that is toimplement low carbon tourism strategy and realize sustainable development.Based on low-carbon economy, circular economy, theories aboutecological tourism as well as reference to literature both at home andabroad, the thesis will explore the concept and implication oflow-carbon tourism. Moreover, it analyzes the necessity of low-carboneconomy in Xinzhou City based on the city’s tourism resources by wayof calculations including carbon footprint calculation, thus alow-carbon tourism model for the city was presented throughempirical analysis and model analysis. Three typical tourist sites inthis city were selected and further explored, offering a model ofsustainable development in Xinzhou City.The thesis consists of six parts. In the first Part, the backgroundwill be illustrated; the framework and areas of innovation would alsobe elaborated. In the second part, it will introduce relative theorieson low-carbon economy, Apart from that, the concept of low-carboneconomy and relations with tourism are also clarified here. Then laysthe foundation for the next four parts. Part Three is a general reviewof geography, tourism resources as well as development andexploitation of tourism in Xinzhou City with a SWOT analysis topredict its prospect of tourism. Part Four is about analysis onlow-carbon economy in Xinzhou City. This part will argue thenecessity and feasibility of low-carbon tourism. Part Five is construction and function of low-carbon tourism model for XinzhouCity. This part will point to the general ideas of low-carbon tourism inXinzhou City, construct a low-carbon tourism model for Xinzhou Cityand display its function. Cases will be cited for further reference. PartSix is the final conclusion of the thesis, as well as its shortages.
