A Study On The Development Model Of Low-carbon Tourism Of Jincheng

With the development of industrialization and rapid economicgrowth, people’s living standard has been greatly improved. However,the emission of carbon dioxide has meanwhile increasedunexpectedly, together with the serious environmental pollution andecological imbalance, which all give warning signs for the urgency ofenvironmental protection. Since the Copenhagen Conference in 2009,high attention has been paid to the global climate change, as well asthe development of low-carbon economy. As an important part ofsocial and economic development, tourism industry ought toimplement the low-carbon strategy in an all-round way, creatingdevelopment mode featured by low carbon. In the field of tourism, thedevelopment of low-carbon travel has nowadays become a hot topic.Based on the theories of low-carbon economy, circular economyand sustainable development, the thesis begins with the explorationof the concept and connotation of low-carbon tourism, and thenchooses Jincheng City, a city blessed with affluent tourism resourcesin Shanxi Province, as the object of study. By means of documentanalysis, evidence study and model analysis, the modes of tourismdevelopment and operation in Jincheng City are constructed on the basis of relevant previous studies. Thus the scientific basis ofsustainable development for tourism in Jincheng is provided, withsignificant importance both in theory and practice.The thesis can be divided into five parts. In the first part, suchfundamental questions as research background, objectives as well asits significance are elaborated, after which literature review onlow-carbon tourism is explained in detail. And relevant theories, forinstance, low-carbon economy, circular economy, ecologicaleconomy and sustainable development, as well as their impact onpresent study are also explained in the second part. The third partintroduces some specific circumstances in Jincheng City andelaborates the city’s tourism by means of SWOT. Then modeconstruction about low-carbon tourism in the city of Jincheng isconducted in the fourth part, with the general purposes and principlesof tourism development elaborated and specific cases analyzed. Thefifth part is the conclusion of this thesis, which is devoted toresearching low-carbon tourism development in Jincheng, analyzingits advantages and disadvantages, constructing the developmentmode and expecting a sustainable long-time development supportedby relevant policies.
