How to face competitions is always a difficult problem to enterprises. With the rapid developed economy, globalized and elaborate competitions become white-hot in 21 century. Any enterprise needs to consider how to embrace globalization better and share in the economy. Generalized, all enterprises compete with the other enterprises all over the world. In this point, it’s especially important to manage more effectively to corporate strategies, internal processes and personnel management. One of the effective measures is to build a high efficient system of performance evaluation which has been recognized the importance by more and more enterprises and present a picture of flourishing tendency in academe. It is absolutely balanced scorecard is excellent in effective transforming strategy to daily routine and scientific evaluation, which is largely used by corporations in the world.This study is analyzing the world research situation of balanced scorecard by applying the basic theory, utilizing case study, setting object of retail company "M" and carrying though observation. It is investigating the current system of performance appraisal of M company, finding problems and purposing clues of improvement. Through SWOT and strategy map, it is innovating supplier evaluative dimension and "CODE" mode to base staff, formulating 4 indicators of financial, customer, supplier, internal business processes, learning and growth, also build up balanced scorecard of store, department and posts level to make the evaluation system perfectly. putting forward attention issues in execution.This study is establishing performance appraisal system of M company among corporation, store, department and position through case study. In view of current situation of few retail company applying balanced scorecard, there is still distance between enterprises home and aboard in the level of management and performance appraisal system. The author wishes to take the thesis for example to provide suggestion to retail companies for balanced scorecard and performance appraisal system. The limitations of the study are some practical problems are rare discovered and it’s not deep researched in the links between balanced scorecard and remuneration system. The following study will continue in practice and summarize former actions to research deeper.
