The Twelfth Five-Year Plan pointed out that, China is in a critical period of deepeningreform, opening up, and accelerating the transformation of economic development.Sustainable regional economic development should promote industrialization, urbanizationand agricultural modernization according to the function orientation. That is, considering theenergy resources, environmental capacity, market space and other factors, optimizing thelayout of the key industry productivity. Industrial ecology is an important research issue, andalso the effective way of regional circular economy development. However, how to measureregional industry status, the industry ecosystem health whether meets the requirement of theregional industry? These are the questions that regional industrial development needs to solve. This thesis studies the regional industrial ecosystem health, based on the theory of industrialecosystem and regional cicular economy, and combined with the Tianjin Binhai New Area tomake the case study. The contents can be summarized as follows:(1) Tracing the soure of ecosystem health theory. Analyzing the theoretical study ofdomestic and international status and indicators of evaluation, and describing the theory basisfrom industrial ecosystem and regional circular economy, and the meaning of regionalindustrial ecosystem are proposed, as well as its characteristics.(2) Building regional industrial ecosystem health evaluation model. Building theuniversal index system, principal component analysis, entropy, fuzzy matter-element methodsare used.(3) Describing the ecological status of the regional industry from the view of ecologicalstess. Anglicizing the regional industrial ecosystem health in“regional ecological footprint”,“ecological stress of industry activities”, and“Eco-efficiency of EIP”.(4) Taking Binhai New Area as an example. Calculating the health indicators and thehealth degree of subsystem in this area, which are used to identify the limiting factor ofindustry health, combined with the analysis of chapter 3.(5) Case management. Making the management mechanisms, development patterns, andstrategies of Binhai New Area industrial ecosystem health, based on the above analysis andevaluation. The thesis is written in the background of Tianjin government advisory task“Tianjineco-city construction livable index system and related issues”, and focus on regionalindustrial ecosystem health.
