Three decades of reform and opening up, China’s economic rapid growth, risingdemand for transportation, energy demand and pollutant emissions in the transportindustry are the rapid growth. In 2010, the energy consumption of the transportindustry accounted for approximately 9% of the total social energy consumption. Toease the energy consumption in the transportation industry, State Council has been thetransport as one of the key industries of energy saving, and explicitly requested toaccelerate the construction of carbon emissions characteristics of the transportationsystem. At the same time, the State Council has urban carbon emissions as a bindingtarget incorporated into the assessment of local government, urban transport industrysecond only to carbon emitters, enormous pressure of carbon emissions. Therefore,the development of low carbon transport has become the inevitable choice of thevarious cities.Against this background, this thesis research on low-carbon transportmodel and development strategy, provide guidance to the development of low carbontransport.Connotation and influencing factors of low carbon transportation, as well as thedevelopment mode and countermeasures are researched in this thesis. Transportcarbon emission has been analysed from several aspects, including land use andtransportation structure, traffic congestion, the use of the new technology,transportation policyand influencing factors. According to development mode of lowcarbon transportation, the style of low carbon transportation is summarized by theanalysis on development process of the urbanization, motorizations level, which is thetraditional model, relatively low carbon model and absolute low carbon model. Forlow carbon transport development countermeasures study, the paper puts forward thetrip, and speeding up the structure optimization new energy and new technologyapplication, provide the urban traffic management level and other measures.For example Shenzhen City.First understand the Present Situation of Shenzhencarbon emissions from the transportation sector; Use of scenario analysis forecastShenzhen Urban Transport characteristics of carbon emissions on benchmarkscenarios, low-carbon scenarios, and strengthen low-carbon scenarios and studyShenzhen transport carbon emission reduction potential. Clear future low-carbondevelopment model of urban transport; Measures and safeguard mechanisms todevelop the construction of low-carbon transport.
