Studies On Motivation Of Leisure Travelers’ B&B Selection In Taiwan Based On The Family Life Cycle And Personality Traits

Taiwan government implemented the weekend’s recreation in1988, Taiwaneseinvestment in leisure time more abundant, making the tourism industry moredevelopment, the B&B industry development is characterized by the changing waythe people travel.If the travel more than two days, the tourist accommodation arrangement is theimportant factors to consider before the Vacation, in the former, the accommodationprovided by the hotel industry, but if run into the tourist season or long holidays thehotel room will cause shortage, in order to solve the problem of inadequateaccommodation, B&B began to develop. B&B’s nature has a great difference withgeneral hotel, in addition to communication with the tourist, the tourist can moreenjoy the warmth of human touch and a sense of home, and the general hotel, thebiggest difference is that in addition to providing basic accommodation, it is alsochanged the hardware facilities into the psychological demand.In the past, mostly on tourism research is biased in favor of behavioral intentionsor tourist image, or tourist attractions satisfaction and willingness to re-visit. Thefamily life cycle and the personality traits of the study, while used in many differentareas of the field, but the use and selection of B&B is also related to issues involvingunattended. Therefore, this study suggests it needs for more in-depth study to seewhether these variables really affect tourists’ motives for the choice B&B accommodation. If the results established, the results can provide to the B&Bindustry and Taiwan township visitor center and B&B owners as future reference.This study is to understand the B&B travelers in different family life cyclestage and personality traits with the selection of B&B’s motives, whether it has thesignificant difference. Reference to scholars in the division of the family life cycle,the study of the family life cycle is divided into nine stages; personality divided intocloseness personality and opening personality. Through field survey, the actualpayment of450questionnaires and401valid questionnaires were obtained.According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, the division of B&Baccommodation motive for the three factors: leisure and ease pressure, local featuresand the B&B image and interpersonal needs. After the analysis of empirical research:(1) family life cycle stage due to the pressure faced by, for example, students andworks; couple of childless and couple have children; the youngest child age0to17years old and the youngest child age above18years old, so the family life cycle aresignificant difference in the choice of B&B accommodation motive.(2) the twodifference personality traits, closeness personality and opening personality,emotional expression are different from the approach of the new environment, sodifferent personality are significant difference in the choice of B&B accommodationmotive.
