Storage is a core function of modern warehouse and rational planning and efficientuse of storage space directly related to storage capacity and operating efficiency ofmodern warehouse. Storage space management is an important part of modern warehousedesign and operations management. Great importance on our modern warehousing systemis paid to construction cost control, multi-function design and information construction,yet less importance is paid to space management and the integrate optimization of spacemanagement and operating efficiency. In view of the above situation, this paper combineswarehousing system planning and design with storage space management and operationsmanagement, oriented space loss improvement, and does research on warehousing systemlayout optimization.Firstly, it summed up the basic method of space utilization and operational analysisabout storage system. This method was based on the basic elements analysis andinventory goods flow analysis of the storage system. It established the measure indicatorsand their calculation method of cellular loss, channel loss and operating efficiencyevaluation of storage system. Then, by using the design principles of the Jigsaw methodof the System Layout Planning method, it gave an initial layout solution of warehousingsystem with determined scale as a contrast layout solution of this thesis. Finally, orientedspace loss improvement, it put forward appropriate improved recommendations andachieved optimized layout solution of the warehousing system. By calculating andcomparing the advantages and disadvantages of optimization solution and contrastedsolution in cellular loss, channel loss, space utilization, operating cycle and operating unit,it summarized the oriented space loss improved layout optimization recommendations ofwarehousing system.
