A Study Of The Impact Of Peri-urban Modernistic Agriculture On The Development Of Urban And Rural Integration

Since the1990s, with the accelerating process of urbanization and industrialization, urban economic developed rapidly while rural development was facing the decline. The gap between urban and rural areas was growing, and the contradiction between the dual structure was obvious. In this context, overall planning of urban and rural relationship and promoting the integration development of urban and rural, has been the inevitable choice to solve the above problem. However, The integration of urban and rural areas is inseparable from industrial support. To provide industrial support for the integration of urban and rural needs to give full play of the radiation and leading role of the cities to rural areas, and develop new industries which could promote rural areas and agriculture. Peri-urban modernistic agriculture is a modern agricultural production system which is closely based on and service for cities, and have many forms and high levels. It just meet the needs of urban and rural integration, and is formed and developed gradually in the inner city and the surrounding areas. The formation and development of peri-urban modernistic agriculture promote the the adjustment of agricultural structure and the transfer of rural surplus labor force, then promote the pace of construction of the ecological garden city and the integration of urban and rural industries and urban and rural integration. Visiblely, Peri-urban modernistic agriculture is an effective way and a new driving force to promote the integration development of urban and rural areas.The previous domestic studies has proposed that peri-urban modernistic agriculture has been an important way to co-ordinate the development of urban and rural and promote the integration of urban and rural because of its unique economic, social and ecological functions. However, there is very little article to study the impact of peri-urban modernistic agriculture on the integration development of urban and rural, and there is almost no date to build the model for empirical analysis. The paper constructs an analytical framework between the two. Firstly, we provide an overview of the theories of peri-urban modernistic agriculture and the integration of urban and rural. Secondly, we give a qualitative analysis of the correlation between the two. Finally, we make a measurement of the levels of peri-urban modernistic agriculture and the integration of urban and rural, and conduct an empirical analysis of the relationship between the two, and specify the impact of peri-urban modernistic agriculture on the integration of rural and urban, then we put forward some ideas and safeguard measures based on the empirical results to promote the development of urban and rural integration through the development of peri-urban modernistic agriculture.
