The Study On Government Functions In Modern Convention And Exhibition Industry

Having a huge influence and economic benefit, the convention and exhibition industry is highly connected with other sectors of the national economy. Since1980s, China’s convention and exhibition industry has experienced the beginning, industrial accumulation and rapid development. Nowadays, China’s convention and exhibition industry has been developed to a certain scale, but compared with that of the developed countries, still needs considerable improvement in many aspects. As the government plays a very important role in the development of the industry, this paper will mainly reviews the history and the current status of China’s convention and exhibition industry from the perspectives of politics science and public administration. In the meanwhile, this dissertation also tries to investigate into the both negative and positive effects of the government in the convention and exhibition industry. In addition, this paper also studies the experiences of the western developed countries in the development of convention and exhibition industry, especially the positive government functions, aiming at putting forward some constructive suggestions about the changes of our government’s roles in convention and exhibition industry.
