| Social security housing for its residents and their lives are closely related, has been taken more and more attention in the lower income groups, which has also been attracted by the government’s attention. With the implement reforms in recent years, Social security housing has become an important part of the housing market, and has provided a guarantee for who have problems in the housing sector. But through research, it’s not difficult to find the policies can not completely solve the housing problems of the people. The highly vacancy rates of social security housing, which can reflects the distant location, incompletely facilities are the fundamental reasons. Therefore, the locations of social security housing have become the focus to buyer’s concentrations. The locations of social security housing whether are scientific or not, not only related to the construction costs of the government’s investment, but also affect the residents commute to daily life. Caused by improper locations of social stratification, residential differentiation will seriously affect the long-term stability of society, which means the demand of the research on choosing locations of social security housing are pressing. This article can be divided into five parts.The first part of social security housing locations by analyzing the research background, summarizes the development process of social security housing, in chronological order divided into three stages, there are before the reform, opening up and nearly a decade.
