As one of the main part of high education in China, high vocational education has developed rapidly in recent years with more attention of nation and society. But with the rapid expansion of its scale, quality problem becomes prominent, causing a wide range of community concern. The quality of education is the key to achieving sustainable development in high vocational education, and education quality management system, the basic platform of quality construction, therefore, is the key to improve the quality of high vocational education. How to create a quality management system suited to the characteristics of high vocational education has become an important subject of vocational education management.The current internationally acceptable series of ISO9000standards are the essence of quality science and technology and the summary of management ideas and experience of the world. Constructing and operating quality management system based on ISO9000series standards is an important means of improving the level of education management and the quality of personnel training as well as integrating with the international for high vocational education. However, due to the impact of Chinese traditional education system and management methods, there are still many problems in the process of implementing high vocational education quality management system.Based on relevant theories of quality management and combining standardization research with case study, this paper first introduces the research background, meaning, methods and so on. Then, by presenting theories of series of ISO9000standards, quality management, and quality management system, it defines some terms of vocational education quality management system. Followed, it analyzes the necessity and feasibility of adopting series of ISO9000standards to construct high vocational education quality management system by high vocational colleges, and summarizes the current status of operating high vocational education quality management system. Subsequently, taking Zilang Vocational&Technical College as a case study, it introduces basic information of the college, the reason of adopting series of ISO9000 standards, and some main factors of constructing high vocational education quality management system as well. It also analyzes the operational situation of college’s quality management system and draws some conclusions of its achievements and inspiration. Finally, integrated above theoretical analysis and case studies, the paper put forwards some strategies for high vocational colleges in building education quality management system based on series of ISO9000standards.Through this study, the author aims to enable more high vocational colleges to understand the necessity and feasibility of series of ISO9000standards in the field of education, avoiding unnecessary detours in constructing and operating education quality management system, and to make the education quality management system based on series of ISO9000standards become an important means of implementing scientific and standardized management and improving the quality of personnel training for high vocational colleges.
