The funeral is a kind of culture, and is an important part of social activities. Itclosely related with people’s illness and death. Funeral customs and cemetery aredifferent because of different religion and folk culture. In Christian culture, they don’ttaboo death, therefore, many countries in the West built the cemetery in cities,cemetery is a park, and some even become a popular tour spot. The funeral form inChristianity can be free to choose, either is the burial or cremation. Islam thinks“allpeople will die”, and with a natural attitude towards death, which makes its funeralculture mainly in three aspects: burial quickly, burial simply and burial in the ground.Islam can not be implemented cremation. Over the years, China has not formed aunified religion, but due to the influence of Confucianism for thousands of years,“propriety and filial piety”become a part of China’s traditional culture. People inChina like give the dead an elaborate funeral, plus people strong ancestor worship andbelieve in the immortality of the soul, people attach great importance to the cemetery.At present, the form of funeral in china including cremation and burial, butconsidering the severe conflict between human and land, we actively pursue thefuneral reform, and gradually change the burial to cremation, and ultimately achievethe goal of no ashes. The cemetery is a transitional form of funeral reform, but it’sundeniable that the cemetery will exist in a long time. Rational planning andmanagement of the cemetery have a great significance to promoting China’s funeralreform.Cemetery is a kind of public facilities which to be used bury ashes or remains; itcan be divided into operating cemetery and public cemetery in rural areas. Operatingcemetery can be used for profit; it belongs to the tertiary industry. The publiccemetery in rural areas cannot to engage in for-profit activities, with the properties ofthe quasi-public products in rural areas. In the process of construction, operatingcemetery and public cemetery in rural areas have different problems. The operatingcemetery’s primal problem is the price of cemetery is too high, and the publiccemetery in rural areas’problem is the supply of cemetery is short because lack ofmoney. An important reason for these problems in the construction of cemeteries isthe lack of money. The cemetery’s properties determine the construction of cemeteriescan’t only rely on the support of government funds. We should introduce the marketmechanism, and make use of financial means to solve the capital problems in theconstruction of cemeteries. Therefore, this paper from the perspective of the financialsupport to the construction of cemeteries in Guizhou province, trying to utilizefinancial means to solve these problems in Guizhou’s construction of cemeteries, soas to achieve the aim of building a harmonious society, saving land and protecting theenvironment.This paper’s research object is the financial support for the Guizhou’sconstruction of cemeteries, and the article is divided into six chapters. The firstchapter is the introduction, mainly to explain the research background andsignificance of the article, the literature review and the shortages. The second chapteris about the necessity of cemetery’s construction and its financial support. This chapter predicts the number of deaths and the cemetery demand scale in the next 20years in Guizhou province. The third chapter analyzes the current situation andproblems of cemetery’s construction and its financial support in Guizhou province.Chapter four and five put forward some financial measures about operating cemeteryand public cemetery in rural areas in Guizhou. The financial measures about operatingcemetery can learn from real estate; and the financial measures about public cemeteryin rural areas can learn from the supply of rural public products. Chapter 6 isconclusion, it points out the government’s support is necessary excepting for thefinancial support in construction of cemeteries.The innovation of this paper is mainly manifested in following two aspects:Firstly, the innovation of research perspective. The research of cemetery’sconstruction in the past is limited in history, sociology, folk culture, while this paper’sperspective is financial support.Secondly, the innovation of research methods. The financial measures aboutoperating cemetery learn from real estate; and the financial measures about publiccemetery in rural areas can learn from the supply of rural public products.
