The Research On The Problem Of Henan Industrial Structure Based On Input-output Technique

The problem of industrial structure has been a hot economic issue for a long time. On the one hand, the evolution of industrial structure can promote economic development; On the other hand, economic development can optimize the industrial structure. Since the reform and opening up, Henan’s economy has been developed rapidly. It is a critical period, when per-capita GDP exceeded 3,000 U.S. dollars in Henan, for industrial structure adjustment. Especially since building Central China Economic District had became national strategy,the development of Henan had got an unprecedented opportunities.Therefore, it is of great significance to research the industrial structure of Henan province.Input-output techno logy, which reflected not only the direct, indirect economic and technological contacts between each industry,but also the connection in the process of production,exchange and distribution, is a basic tool to analyze the industry correlation. It provides a quantitative basis to research the industrial structure, which is used widely in real world. This thesis tries to analyze the industrial structure of Henanby the menthod of input-output technology, which provides the foundation for the adjustment of the industrial structure and comprehension of the relationship of industries.In this paper, firstly, the writer investigates the present situation of three industries in Henan By the analysis of value structure and employment structure, the writer discovers some problems of industrial structure in Henan, such as the large deviation of three industries, the lag development of the third industry and so on.By investigating the investment and output of labor force,capital, research and development,the anthor realizes the efficiency of input in three industries.Secondly, baseed on the recent input-output table of Henan,by analyzing the structure of end-use, primary input, intermediate input and the interaction between each industry, we could define the effect in Henan economic development, development trends of each industry and the industrial relevancy. In the mean time, this thesis comes to the conclusion that the leading industries in He nan economic structure, which is not reasonable,mainly are energy, natural resources and capital intensive industries. The thesis also finds that many tertiary industries have little influences and sensitivities, and they are playing small roles in the economic development. And they are also impeding the regional economic development. Finally, the writer suggests that, on the basis of the above analysis, Henan should promote urbanization, industrialization and agricultural modernization coordinative development.And the government should make and carry out some policies to develop modern service industries and other proposals that can solve the existing problems in Henan province.
