As the rapid development of the highway constructions in our country in the past decade, a highway network has nearly come into being. It has turned into a major intercity passenger transport way. It also occupies the majority of the passenger transport market and provides significant convience for the city citizens' trip.Unfortunately in the recent years the highway passenger transport has seen an obvious decrease of its market as the rapid constructions of highspeed rails, especially the kicking off intercity trains and motor tranin units, which increases the competiveness between them. It has become an ungent issue to be solved for both the passenger transport businessmen and the administrative departments. In this thesis I have done a research of the main characteristics of both Fujian province's motorway passenger transport and the highspeed rail transport, finding their advantages and disvantages respectively and pointing out the revelant strategy for motorway transport to increase its core competence. This thesis mainly consists of:Firstly with my practical job experience, I have made an analysis of the current sitution of Fujian Province's motorway passenger transport and found its main characteristics and its existing problems.Following is the an analysis of the highspeed railway transport.A comparison between the motorway passenger transport and highspeed passenger transport is done here,which includes their diffent transport way, operation system and their advantages and disvantages.Lastly, according to the above analysis the strategies are pointed out for the Fujian province's motorway passenger transport industry in the adjustment of its transport capacity structurec, improvement of services and the reform of its operation system.
