A Study On Agricultural TFP Of Henan Province

Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy, and the fundamental which people’ssurvival depends on, but it need more and more number of agricultural products to develop the nationaleconomy and people’s living standard.The contradiction between demand of people and the limitedresources is more and more prominent, so the improvement of agricultural productivity become the onlysolution. It’s Sustainable rising, not only to increase the farmers’ income level, but also to provide labor fornon-agricultural industries, and the labor’s configuration also is an important source of economic growth.Therefore, there are important practical significance and policy connotation to improve agriculturalproductivity.Henan is a big and strong agricultural province which is located in centre of China. The ruralpopulation accounts for nearly64%of the total population.it is a important area for grain production whosetotal grain output is about1/10of the whole country. Henan feed the7.5%of country’s population withonly1.74%of the land, and having surplus.Although Henan made great contribution to the national grainbalance of supply and demand. But Henan farmers’ income level is very low, the economic development isvery slow. Soe improving Henan agricultural development level, agricultural productivity and agriculturalmodernization positively is important.In this paper, The author calculated agricultural productivity of108counties in Henan of2000-2010, analysised the characteristics of spatial and time distribution, dynamic changes, the regionaldifferences of henan agricultural total factor productivity.Then based on it,get the spatial Aggregateddistribution characteristics of henan agricultural productivity, high level area is mainly distributed in thesouthwest of henan province. Productivity grows slowly, has fluctuatian, and depends on the technology’sgrowth and economies of scale mainly. The estimation and evaluation of influential factors of agriculturalproductivity work out that the geographical factors, electrical using rate, labor inputing are positive roles tohenan agricultural total factor productivity’s growth.But industrialization and capital investment don’t hassignificantly influence on Henan agricultural total factor productivity’s growth. Finally through the researchand analysis on the restricting factors of the development of henan agricultural productivity, the author found that if want to increase agricultural productivity and to realize the sustainable development ofagriculture, it must achieved through the fine export-oriented agricultural, knowledgment agriculture and soon.In detail, there are cultivating and improving rural factor market, establishment of reasonableagriculture industry structure, the use of advanced agricultural science and technology, a professionalspecialization, providing better agricultural infrastructure, making the system which is advantageous to thesustainable development of agriculture and so on.
