Research Of The Conslruclion Of Public Transpotration System From The Perspective Of Intensive Land Use-taking Tianjin City As Example

Urban transportation is the basis of activity running in city while land resource is the supporterand fountain of the development of city. Nowadays, the traffic problems in city, especially, in bigcity are very serious and the land resource in city is less and less. Under these backgrounds, thetraditional public transportation system in which public transportation follows the developmentof land resource can not conform to the development of modern city. If the contradictionbetween the growing development of urban transportation and the less and less city land resourcecan not be solved properly, it will threaten directly the healthy and sustainable development ofcity economy and social life. Whether it can be solved properly depends on whether we can dealwith the relations between them properly. The historical lessons, related theories and successfulexperience at abroad show that we need to change the thought and achieve the integrationdevelopment of public development and land use. Thus, we should study the related theories.Form this point of view, this paper tries to study the building of new public urban transportationsystem on the perspective of land use intensification and public transportation integrationdevelopment. And this paper will take Tianjin City as an example to study in details.On the basis of studying the related theories of public transportation and land useintensification, defining the main conceptions, analyzing the relationships between them, andconcluding the successful experiences at abroad, this paper studies the current situations ofpublic transportation and land use in China and proves the necessity of building a new urbanpublic transportation. Trough the analysis of the new trends of public transportation and land use,this paper gives the support of new public transportation building and then designs the newpublic transportation system and the supporting policies. With the analyzing of the relatedbackground of Tianjin City, this paper gives a new urban public transportation system based onland use intensification and conclude the experience of Tianjin City and questions which TianjinCity need to pay attention to. At last, the paper gives the main conclusions and points out theshortcomings in this paper.
