With the rapid development of modern science and technology, human society is beinggradually into the knowledge-based economy from the industrial society. Knowledge becomesthe main elements of today’s productivity of social and economic. Knowledge-basedenterprise is the company that creates value for shareholders based on knowledge as the mainfactors of production. Knowledge operation is the core of the knowledge-based business’soperations. However, the knowledge-based enterprises is facing fierce competition in themarket in their survival and development process, and many knowledge-based enterprises inthe intense market competition have been eliminated because of the lack of core competence.Core competence is the source of enterprise’s market competition advantages. Therefore, tostudy the construction of the core competence of knowledge-based enterprises will haveimportant theoretical and practical significance. This paper study the relationship between thelevel of capacity and efficiency of knowledge operation and the size of the core competenceof knowledge-based enterprises by using synthesize, deductive reasoning and other methods,and found that there is such a relationship between the level of capacity and efficiency ofknowledge operation and the size of the core competence of knowledge-based enterprises,that is, the level of capacity and efficiency of knowledge operation is the dominant influencefactors of the size of the core competence of knowledge-based enterprises, and results theconclusion that knowledge operation is the dominant factors affecting the construction of corecompetence of knowledge-based enterprise by it, and this is the existing literature does notmention. The relationship between knowledge operation and the core competence ofknowledge-based enterprises provides a theoretical basis for knowledge-based company’score competence build. In this paper, there are a few suggestions for buildingknowledge-based company’s core competence dominated by knowledge operation, based onthe relationship between knowledge operation and the core competence of knowledge-basedenterprises, that is, to strengthen the construction of enterprise information, to create alearning enterprise organization, to create knowledge-operation entrepreneurs team, to buildenterprise-university-research-institute knowledge strategic alliance, to sound within the knowledge innovation incentives and to develop and implement norms and standard operatingstrategies, and hope that these recommendations will play some guidance to the practice of theconstruction of the knowledge-based enterprise’s core competence.
