During the process of new rural construction, the contradictions between arable landreducing and rural residential land expansion becomes more and more prominent. RuralResidential Land Consolidation is an important measure to solve the problem of rural land use,the coordination of supply and demand of urban and rural land, development of urban andrural areas and improvement of living conditions in rural areas. The study of Rural ResidentialLand Consolidation potential is a basic research before work, which can provide feasibilityanalysis and recommendations for finishing work, therefore it has important practicalsignificance.Considering the actual situation of the Qinzhou area, the author evaluates the potential ofland consolidation, pointing out where and how much the potential is, and furthermore, makesome suggestion for practical. Given full consideration to the natural, economic and socialdevelopment as well as farmers’ production and living status quo, the factors which constraintthe potential release were organized. Methods of standard method of construction land percapita, multi-factor comprehensive assessment, paired comparison and AHP were employed. The results showed that the comprehensive correction coefficients of the townships studieswere ranged from0.17to0.77, and the theoretical potential and the realistic potential value ofrural residential land consolidation in this region were2084.11hm2, accounting for32.05%ofthe current situation of residential land use, and978.6hm2, respectively, in which the higherthe potential value of these townships were Yuquan Town, Zaojiao Town, Xikou Town andPingnan Town. Due to various constraints, the corrected value accounted for46.95%of thetheoretical value of the potential of rural residential land consolidation. It was necessary to actaccording to these results to improve land consolidation efficiency.Combined with further discussion, the calculation results of this method agree with therealities, and can meet the actual needs. At the same time, this study is relatively simple andeasy to extend to other similar areas, which can service to other Rural Residential LandConsolidation prediction research.
