The increasing exchange rate between Dollar and RMB and the increasing minimum wageincrease the cost of Chinese export-oriented enterprise in these days. At the same time, thepeople born in the1980s and1990s become the majority of the labour force and have moredemand on self-actualization and this also increases the cost of Chinese export-orientedenterprise.These changes show the human resource becomes more and more important in theenterprise and the ages the earning is owned by the low priced labour has been gone away. The export-oriented enterprise now just could be survived by taking improvement activities. There are two kinds of improvement activities: One is innovation which technology andcapital is the driving force, the other is Kaizen which human resource is the driving force andits improvement is continuous and reached step by step based on the current situation.Comparing to the technique and capital needed by the innovation, Kaizen needs less theseresources as its focus is the human resource. Kaizen is the applicable improvement methodfor Chinese export-oriented enterprise as most of them are lack of technology and capital. This article introduces the corresponding quality theory of Deming, Juran and Crosby, then introduces the Kaizen theory which is developed based on these theories, and alsointroduces Kaizen’s related study. It also introduces the quality issues existed in SLCompany like not enough standardization and more handling operation, and then thecorrepsonding Kaizen activities taken on them to make improvement such as5S and Viusalmanagement. Finally the evaluation is provided on the Kaizen activites made in SL Company. And it is hoped that it could be taken as example for reference by other export-orientedenterprise who want to implement Kaizen.
