The Study On Moderate Consumption In The Field Of Ecological Civilization

The Industrial cicilization increas the productivity unprecedentedly. However, at the sametime, due to the logic of more production and more consumption, the entire industrialcivilization brought serious ecological problems, including environmental pollution, resourcedepletion and ecological imbalance. Humanity has trapped in the gray vicious circle. In orderto survive and develop, humanity have to consume. Thus, the problem of the consumption isthe key factor of the environmental problem. Being fronted with a series of ecologicalproblems, human are well-advised to reconsider the relationship of human and nature fromthe view of consumption. The main idea of the moderate consumption is to make theharmonious development of man and nature. In another hand, it advocate people should holdthe opinion that we have to subsystem consumption into the whole natural in order to realizethe Sustainable Development. The main content of the article and the main conclusions are asfollows:To begin with, use the methods of analysis and synthesis to interpretate moderateconsumption from the economic perspective, culture perspective, ethical perspective and theperspective of ecological civilization, respectively. The article focus on the interpretation ofmoderate consumption from the view of ecological civilization and advocate people have therecognition of the intrinsic value of nature and learn that everything in the nature occupy aspecific ecoligical niche that other things cannot replace element function. Moreover,ecological civilization argue people to think from the overall point of view and emphasize therelationship between different things in the nature, and then we can realize the unification ofthe extrinsic value and intrinsic value of things. In addition, moderate conception is one kindof sustainable consumption and plays important role to make the intergenerational equity andregional equity come true.Secondly, using the methods of historical analysis to study Chinese and Western countries’moderate consumption in different times, thereby, it summarizes problems of trationalmoderate consumptions. First of all, the logic of the Chinese and Western trational moderateconsumption is different, the ethic of Chinese traditonal moderate consumption is to pursuitthe moral character and reach th zcme of perfection. However, this thought is harmful todevelop economy. To the contrary, the western trational consumption ethics is the logical economic development and do people’s best to learn and change the world. The second one isthat the traditional moderate consumption is only about the quantity of the consumption andadvocate people to consump less. The third one is the incompleteness of the degree of modereconsumption. We should understand moderate consumption from different personal aspect,social aspect and natural aspect.Futhermore, the author analyzes the actual state of modern moderate consumption andstudy some opposed concept of moderate consumption;thereby reaching the followingconclusion: Firstly, undoubtedly, the consumption can stimulate the economy. However, weshould think it from the view of ecological bearing capacity. And from the perspective ofsocial production and reproduction, consumption and accumulation are well advised tomaintain a proportional relationship.Secondly, consumption doesnot mean hapiness. Andunrestrained consumption will lead the result of human alienation. Moderate consumption isnot just can be advocated and realized in the rich areas.Finally, according to the above discussion, the author think we should think the moderateconsumption correctly. On one hand, the ecological civilization has enriched the moderateconsumption concept theory: advocate the harmonious of people and nature, propose theconcept of ecological personality thought, expand the moderate consumption ofdimensionality. On the other hand, the author puts forward the methods of achiving themoderate consumption, including changing the ways of production and consumption,changing the cultural values, and the transformation of technology.
