Company A is one of the biggest home appliance firms in China. In response to themore diversified and growing demands of consumers, company A, like its many peers inthe section, chose to follow a diversification strategy and OEM business mode. After afew years’ practice, company A has made substantial success in its OEM business mode.However, it is also challenged by the problems associated with the evaluation, selectionand management of suppliers under the OEM mode and its suppliers managementsystem has been a serious bottleneck for its further development.According to the problems of evelauation and selection of suppliers found underthe OEM mode in Company A, this paper, based on the relevant academic results bothdomestically and internationally, especially those with a method combining bothqualified and quantified research, provides a whole set of solution of methods andprograms to rebuild and innovate supplier evaluation and management system on thebasis of its current one.This paper focused on the optimizing of its current supplier evaluation andselection system of X division of company A and built a more scientific and systematicsupplier evaluation and selection system. Based on the general principles and programsof suppliers management, combining the analysis of suppliers researching results, thispaper designed a three-level supplier management system for X division of company A.Scores on business, technique and quality, provided by experts according to themanagement system are analyzed with a Liner Weighting Model and used to supportdecision making in supplier management. Finally, as supplement to the construction ofsupplier evaluation and selection system, this paper provided suggestions on buildingstrategic partnership with suppliers.Using X division of company A as a example, this paper studied the building andpractice of suppler choosing, evaluation and management system. It provided insightson how to upgrade and reform suppliers management systems and this may help tosolve relevant problems confronting all home appliance companies adapting OEMbusiness modes.
