It is not only recommended as an international breeding species by FAO, but also supported to the advantage species of freshwater by China’s Ministry of Agriculture. Because of its fast-growing, easy-feeding and delicious taste, tilapia is more and more popular to every country’s fish-farmers and customers. Guangxi province is main producing area of tilapia, which pay more attention to tilapia industry and has many privileges in policy and fund. So tilapia industry has become one of competitive industries of Guangxi.With the rapid development of Guangxi tilapia industry, more and more problem comes out to limit its development. In this study, we relate economic theory to analyze the industrialization of tilapia the current situation and existing problems. This study gives some advice to further development and provides a theoretical foundation to sustained development of tilapia industry in Guangxi. The primary coverage includes:1. Major problems of tilapia industry in Guangxi. There are some problems of tilapia industry, such as:poor germplasm resource, low rate of high quality fry, old infrastructures and technology, quality reduction, low level of industrialization, unstable food quality, frequent disease, and so on. These problems restrict the tilapia industry development. 4. Some advice to improve the tilapia industry of Guangxi. In this section, we give some advice to improve the tilapia industry of Guangxi. For example: We need enhance breeding and study on mariculture technology. We need more financial investment to improve our basic conditions and service system construction. We need more research deep-processing technology. We need to support leading enterprises to actively explore the domestic markets in policy, taxation and financing. This study provides support to sustainable development of tilapia industry in Guangxi.
