China’s economic development and social progress has brought the opportunities for the survival and development of Chinese enterprises, it’s also make enterprises face greater competition and challenges. In this context, companies’pressure is increasing, the pressure of the employees is also growing, and work stress has become a social as well as global hot issue of common concern. Excessive pressure of work will not only affect the health of employees, hazard their mental health, to some extent, affect the behavior and work performance of staff. Employees’initiative and spontaneity has become the key to success in the competition of the market. So, how to reduce stress, improve the contextual performance of employees, have a critical influence on the organization’s overall performance and effectiveness, and the organization’s competitive advantage or the ability to adapt.Emotional intelligence as an emerging area of research has shifted from the field of psychology and education to the field of organizational behavior. Some scholars’studies found that emotional intelligence is an important factor of individual success, and plays an important role in resistance to the employees’ work stress and organizational citizenship behavior. Therefore, this study chooses "80" staff as the object of the study to research the relationship between job stress, emotional intelligence and contextual performance, to provide a reference for the organization and management. This study is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, including the research background, ideas, significance and innovation, In the second chapter, we review and summary the content, structure and the main theoretical literature of work stress, emotional intelligence and contextual performance. The third chapter is the empirical study design, including the research object, method and tools. We also put forward the assumptions and theoretical models of this study, and define three variables and their dimensions. The forth chapter is the empirical research. In this part, we mainly use SPSS17.0for six areas of analysis;(1) Describe the survey sample in the distribution of demographic variables, at the same time, make the descriptive statistical analysis, to understand the distribution of samples in each variable;(2) Use factor analysis and Cronbach value to analyze three variables scales’validity and reliability;(3) Use independent samples t test and one sample AN OVA analysis of variance to analyze the demographic variables’significant differences in each variable;(4) Use Pearson correlation analysis to investigate the relationship between work stress, emotional intelligence and contextual performance, and the relationship between dimensions of the three variables;(5) Use regression analysis to research the independent variable and moderator variable’s impact on the dependent variable;(6) Use hierarchical regression to verify the moderating effective of emotional intelligence on the working pressure and contextual performance. The fifth chapter is the findings and prospect of the future research.According to this study, we obtain the following main conclusions:(1) Overall level of "80" staffs’work stress is not high, the work overload and career development pressure is relatively high; the overall emotional intelligence is a little higher, the adjustment ability of emotion is lower; the overall level of contextual performance is a little higher, interpersonal promote is high;(2)"80" staff pressure’s differences is only in gender and job level, well their emotional intelligence and peripheral performance’s differences is only in the job level and job category;(3) Overall, the work stress has significant negative impact on contextual performance, emotional intelligence has significant negative impact on work stress, emotional intelligence has significant positive impact on contextual performance;(4) Emotional Intelligence has moderating effect between work stress and contextual performance, with the levels of emotional intelligence raising, negative correlation between work stress and contextual performance is reduced.Throughout the full text of this paper, the innovation is mainly in the following areas:(1) The research data is from "80" staff, research in this area is relatively little and therefore has a certain significance value for the general staff stress management;(2) This study mainly investigates the impact of work stress and emotional intelligence on contextual performance, and provide management comments and suggestions from this two perspectives to promote employee performance and organizational performance;(3) Use emotional intelligence to moderate the relationship between the work stress and contextual performance.
