Research On Competitiveness Of Shipbuilding Industrial Cluster In Bohai Rim

China’s shipbuilding industry has made remarkable achievements after60years of development. From the three indicators of global shipbuilding, China has become the world’s largest shipbuilding country. But there are still some problems to be solved in terms of ship industrial structure and the shipping industry international competitiveness, such as the low level of scientific and technological innovation and underdevelopment of supporting industries Etc. These problems have become the constraints of China from a world’s big shipbuilding county change to a powerful shipbuilding county.Industry cluster is a phenomenon that industry closely linked economic subjects gathering in a geographical space. Industrial clusters has lower production costs, strengthen collaborative innovation, to create a market brand, improve the market competitive position and many other advantages, and many domestic and international practices have been proven it to be an efficient form of organization of production. Industrial clusters have positive significance to promote industrial development and competitiveness. Shipbuilding industry has a long industrial chain. And shipbuilding industry has strong impetus to the development of regional industries, known as the comprehensive industrial crown. Due to the particularity of the production conditions, the shipbuilding industry is often in the formation of the cluster development along the river and the ocean. Three large shipbuilding industry cluster has been formed in China’s geographic location favorable conditions of the Yangtze River Delta, Bohai rim and Pearl River Delta Region. This cluster type of organizational model for promoting the development of China’s shipbuilding industry has played an important role.As guide of the theory of industrial clusters, industrial cluster theory of competitive advantage, and competitiveness of industrial clusters theory, this thesis does a brief introduction to the overall development and distribution of China’s shipbuilding industry firstly. Then studied the current development of the Bohai rim Shipbuilding Industry Cluster, and detailed analysis of the shipping industry cluster development of the provinces and cities in the Bohai rim. And we quantitative evaluated the degree of agglomeration of the Bohai rim Shipbuilding Industry Cluster with location quotient coefficient and the spatial Gini coefficient. On the basis of the GEM model which is use to evaluate the competitiveness of industrial clusters, we built GEMS model for the evaluation of the shipbuilding industry cluster competitiveness. And we use of the model combined with the actual data to evaluate the Bohai rim shipbuilding industry cluster competitiveness. Finally, we put forward suggestions for the enhancement of the Bohai rim shipbuilding industry cluster competitiveness.
