Today, with the marketability degree enhancing, information fast advancing and market demand diversification, the construction industry of our country is facing a very profound change from the internal and external environment which the construction profession is located, and talent competence is becoming more and more important. Project managers with abundant experience and high quality are the guarantee of construction companies to get great outputs from the profound change. But we can see that major construction companies from domestic still have serious malpractice when HR managing Project managers in the idea, the way, and the method aspects. This situation could not satisfy the profound change of market environment, it is also a hindrance for construction companies’further development. Now, the research on Competency has already become a hot spot of the psychology, the pedagogy, the human resources management science and so on. In human resources management’s aspect, the Competency model’s utilization may help the enterprise to display the core functions of human resources management better. Presently, our country’s research on the Competency model is still at the initial stage, the research literature is very deficient. Therefore, it is necessary to carry on the preliminary attempt and the exploration on the construction project manager’s Competency model.The article’s main research content including five parts:(1)Introduction. This chapter first elaborated the background and the significance meaning of this article, next, also carried on the elaboration of the research goal, and then proposed the paper research content and the research technique, finally, put forward the possible innovation of this article.(2)Related concept limits and literature summary. This chapter first carried on the limits of the related concept which involved to this article, and also carried on the corresponding literature review of Competency model. Afterward carried on the overseas related research literature, this mainly included the research plane and research mentality these two aspects, finally has also carried on the related summary to the domestic research literature.(3)The Construction of project manager’s competency model. This chapter first has conducted research and design to the behavior event interview’s method compendium, then forms the interview compendium into survey questionnaires, after that, based on the data which obtains according to the investigation and study, through STATA11, the statistical software’s confirmation and analysis produces, finally the author get the construction project manager’s competency model.(4)the application of Construction project manager’s competency model. This chapter’s mainly acts are based on the model which the third chapter obtained, and will be applied separately in construction project manager’s selecting, training development, achievements management and so on.(5)conclusion and advice. This chapter first carried on this article’s final conclusion and the insufficiency according to the corresponding summary which the former chapters obtained. Finally, carries on the forecast again to the later researchThis article uses the empirical study method. This article takes the competency theory as the foundation, consider our country’s present human resources management reality, takes the investigated companies’human resources management’s present situation as the basis, analysis various aspects of how to become an outstanding construction project manager in competency view, and carried on the examination to it with the mathematical model.The possible innovation of this article is mainly about the following two aspects:(1)through Review literature the author discovered that our country’s research on the competency model of administrative personnel are mainly concentrate on whether it is suitable to each administrative personnel, but only few researches concrete on some material position’s competency model, the research to Construction project manager is much less. This article used some corresponding experience from domestic and foreign countries as reference when constructing the model, and made unified choices with personal Construction’s working experience. Finally constructed the construction project manager’s competency model, and has carried on the explanation to each essential factor.(2)This article not only conducted the research to the Construction project manager’s competency model, but also take this model as the foundation, applied this model to exploration of the human resources management. Currently, the literature which about Construction project manager’s competency model’s application is very few.The deficiency of this article.Firstly, because of the limit of funds, in addition, original colleague separately in places such as Shandong, Jiangxi, Fujian. therefore, we did not able to carry on investigates and studies on the spot, instead, we used the way which by former colleagues help us to send questionnaires, this in certain extent may possibly affect some project manager have wrong understanding with some inside technical expressions.Secondly, this article’s author’s major was not human resources management at undergraduate course stage,in addition, the literature has read at graduate student stage is limited, this has limited this article literature quotation and the expansion in some certain extent. And the research on the project manager’s competency starts late in the domestic, so, the research of this article also has certain limitation. We hope more and more practitioner and the researcher of human resources think much of the research of this aspect, contributes their own strength for our country’s human resources research.Finally, introduce the competency model to the construction profession is a brand-new topic to the construction profession’s human resources management of our country. The research of this aspect from Domestic and foreign countries are very few, the concern of its value is also insufficient, this caused some limitation when this article taking quotation. Therefore the field of vision is not very open, there may have some certain extent deviation between conclusion and the reality.
