The City Migrant Workers Housing Security System Research

Although migrant workers do great contributions to our economy, they can notenjoy the equal welfare such as medical security, education and health care because ofthe restrictions of the urban-rural dual structure and household register system. One ofbig problem is housing condition of migrant worker. So how to solve the housingproblem of migrant workers is an important task facing government.This paper analyzes the situation of housing condition of migrant workers andthe causes of that phenomenon. Based on the actual situation in Yiwu and theexperience of other cities in china, I establish the cost-benefit model to explain thatquestion. Finally, this paper found that Yiwu’s policy should be based on thecharacteristics of its own.Specifically to say, this paper first introduces the research background and themain content of the migrant workers were defined, and then described the currentstage of housing migrant workers the status and problems. second, this paper analyzethe housing problems of migrant workers, and the causes of today’s migrant workersin China standing on the housing policy, established migrant workers housingcost-benefit model, and analyze the domestic and international settlement of migrantworkers housing practices. Finally, the author combines the economic and socialsituation in Yiwu City, and then put forward the solutions for the housing problems ofmigrant workers.
