Research On The Choice Of Successive Industries For Resource-based Cities

The resource-based cities is defined as ones which are developingwith the exploitation of mine and forestry and also making economicgloom by the leading industry of resources utilization. With making animportant contribution to China’s economic development by the depletionof resources, many social and economic problems have taken place in theresource-based cities at the same time. The key reasons of theresource-based cities in the process of economic development arechanges in the economic system and market demands, resourcesgradually drained.While irrational industrial structure, over-reliance onresource-based industries, serious environmental damage, and low urbancore competitiveness are the specific manifestations of these problems.As resource-based cities, they are also the center of economic andpolitical majority for the inter-regional. Economic development ofregional is more affected by their influence. So how to avoidresource-based cities not achieve sustainable development by the reasonsof single industrial structure, resource depletion and so on is a major issuewith the urgent need to study and solve.This paper first reviews the basic concepts of resource-based urbaneconomic restructuring, taking over the industry choice literature anddefines the resource-based urban economic restructuring, taking over industry, the benchmark, the characteristics and principles of taking overindustry. Then uses theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis methods, to take over theindustry selection analysis in the economic transformation ofresource-based cities Zaozhuang and tourism how become the successorindustry of Zaozhuang. Presenting he feasibility analysis by usingqualitative and quantitative methods of the tourism industry beingsuccessor industrial for Zaozhuang and to establish index system oftraditional industries and the tourism industry, then the DEA model. Thetourism industry is suitable for becoming the best successor industry andhow to develop the tourism industry for the characteristics of Zaozhuanghave taken an empirical study. Finally, gives the unique way of tourismdevelopment and policy recommendations.
