Jingtang Port Competitiveness Evaluation And Promotion Strategy

Accompanied by the continuous development of economic and trade globalization thecompetition between ports became more and more fierce. The level of the portcompetitiveness is now the weather vane of the development tendency of the economicalhinterland where the port is located．So nowadays the operators are most concerned abouthow to increase the competitiveness of the ports. For this target，not only should theoperators refer to the operation mode of the other outstanding ports，they should alsosummarize the experience and lessons learnt，take the advantage of the strength andovercome the shortcomings based on the port’s own development situation．Then the portcould establish itself in an impregnable position worldwide．This article refers to the achievements on the competitiveness of the port．Aftercomparing the advantages of the system evaluation methods，ultimately, determined usingthe analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The article refersJingtang port in Hebei to evaluates and analyzes, and puts forward a strategy to enhancethe competitiveness of the recommendations. It provides the scientific foundation foroptimizing the resource disposition, improving the efficiency of management and creatingmore benefits．At first，this article systematical reviews the literature for competitiveness of port.After that based on the understanding of national competitiveness, industrialcompetitiveness and the competitiveness of enterprises describe the conception of portcompetitiveness．Then the article analyzes the current status of port development in China,and the advantages and disadvantages of the Jingtang port. Then analyzes the advantagesand disadvantages of the methods that evaluate the competitiveness of port, ultimately,decide to use the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation for theJingtang Port competitiveness evaluation. The Jingtang port competitiveness evaluationindex system, build on the basis of the principle and model introduced fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method of the five-level indicators and nineteen secondaryindicators. Finally, we studies Jingtang port competitiveness to verify the value of the model in practice. Though the analysis we find that the Jingtang port’s overall level ofcompetitiveness is "general", and we puts forward the methods and suggestions forpromoting the comprehensive competitiveness of Jingtang port.
