Analysis Of Chinese Iron And Steel Industry Carbon Footprint And Carbon Emissions Impact Factors

This study aims to identify the main problems of China’s iron and steel industry incarbon emission reduction, through Calculation and analysis of China’s iron and steelindustry carbon emissions. Then by case analysis, we want to find the steel industrycarbon reduction countermeasures. We also hope to provide useful advice to low-carbonsustainable development of China’s iron and steel industry. This study is important forcarbon reduction in our country, it also plays a positive role in slowing global warmingtrend.First, through the analysis of the entire steel production process, the carbon dioxideemissions of the steel industry is calculated. In the calculation, carbon dioxide emissionsgenerated by the steel industry is divided into the burning of fossil fuels, the reductionreaction and power consumption. Through the calculation of carbon dioxide emissionsbetween2000to2009years, the issues of China’s iron and steel industry in the productionof carbon emission reduction are found.Secondly, on the basis of detailed calculations of the carbon emissions of the steelindustry, I used Laspeyres decomposition method to build a steel industry CO2emissionsimpact factors completely decomposition model. Factors of the carbon dioxide emissionsof the steel industry in the years2000-2009are analysed. The main problems of the steelindustry in terms of carbon emission reduction are targeted analysed in scale factors,factors of energy efficiency and energy structure factors.Finally, based on the above analysis, carbon emission reduction countermeasures ofShi Jiazhuang Iron and Steel Company are analysed. The problems of Shijiazhuang Ironand Steel Company in terms of carbon emission reduction are typically, and Theseproblems are also generally in the Iron and steel industry. Through proposed thecountermeasures for Shijiazhuang Iron and Steel Company, we can promote thesecountermeasures to the entire steel industry. This research can make the steel industry’scarbon emission reduction countermeasures more practically.
