The Prospect Research On The Area Development Around Hohhot、Baotou And Ordos From The Perspective Of Urbanization

Urbanization is the necessary trend of the society and economy development, isthe most important and overall social transformation in the human history, is thephenomenon when social labor division develops to a certain historical stage, and hasprofound historical and social necessities. As one of the most important marks of thesocial progress, urbanization is becoming a power and source to push China regionaleconomic growth. Hence, it is become an issue that every level of governments pay alot of attention for judging reasonably to the urbanization level. However, the currentstandard for the urbanization is scarcely and exists a lot of limitations. It can onlydescribe characters from some aspects and is lack of comparisons from vertical andhorizontal ways, loses the ability to reflect the urbanization level of a certain placein comprehensive、real way.According to the aggregative indicator system, this paper is based on the analysesof the area around Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos (includes26areas and countries),searches deeply the current development and unbalance of urbanization of the areaaround Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos, tries to give appropriate opinions and suggestions.The area around Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos plays a key role to the development andconstruction of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. So it is becoming a main issuehow to catch the challenge that the urbanization brings and to push forward the furtherdevelopment of urbanization for both the area around Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos andthe whole Inner Mongolia.In chapter one, the author starts with basic theory study. At first, the authorintroduces the background and significance to choose this topic, definition and type ofurbanization.On the basis of further studying on the issue of urbanization fromscholars home and broad, the author gives the structure of this paper.In chapter two, the author describes the current level of the area around Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos. At first, the author uses unique indicator method to describe thetrend of the area around Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos in1978to2010,and builds time series forecasting model. Then, the author sets up aggregative indicator evaluationsystem and gets the index of urbanization of the area around Hohhot、Baotou andOrdos. After this step, the author uses the area around Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos(includes26areas and countries) as the objects of study, searches deeply thedifferences and unbalance of urbanization among above areas, and puts those areasand countries which have similar urbanization development level together in order tomake appropriate policies and take necessary actions.On the basis of the conclusion of chapter two, the author searches specifically theimportant elements which impact the urbanization of the area around Hohhot、Baotouand Ordos deeply, such like economic growth、industrialization、tertiary industry、factor movements and so on. According to the specific differences of the areaaround Hohhot、Baotou and Ordos, the author raises his own suggestions andopinions.
