Research On The Selection And Development Of Characteristic Agriculture Industry In Tonghua

To vigorously developing the economy of Characteristic Industry is not only the developing direction of future agriculture in our country, but also is a important approach to opened up a favorable new situation in Promoting New Countryside Building. The eastern part of Jilin province has plenty of natural resources and excellent conditions to develop the characteristic Industry. As the largest central city in the eastern part of Jilin province, Tonghua lies at the foot of the Changbai Mountain, and it is also an important output base in Jilin province. Superiority of the natural resources determines that Tonghua has a prominence position among all areas in the eastern part in Jilin province. Based on modern economics principles, this paper used the SWOT analysis method to find the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat of developing the economy of characteristic agriculture industry in Tonghua and built the index of comprehensive standard to select characteristic agriculture industry in Tonghua. Finally, this paper analyzed the characteristics agriculture industry one by one. The main contents described as follows:The first part introduced the basis of this article topic, the research scope and methodology.The second part defined the concept of characteristics agriculture industry, and made the analysis on significance of it.The third part used SWOT analysis method to make analysis on the characteristics agriculture industry in Tonghua. The advantage of developing characteristics agriculture industry in Tonghua were climate resource, natural resources, related industrial economy. And the weakness were the overall economy, information lags, Lack of talent and scientific support, the weakly anti-disaster ability. The development opportunities were support policy and regional economic development opportunity. The challenges were the over-exploitation of resources, market competition and trade protectionism.The forth part was the choosing of characteristic agriculture industry. There were8industries which with the development advantage index above1,and were chosen as the characteristics agriculture industry, namely, rice farming, the tobacco industry, garden ginseng farming, cattle breeding industry, honey industry, antler industry, viticulture, and the forest industry.The fifth part was the evaluation about the characteristic agriculture industries. Besides antler industry, comparative advantages of the rest were prominent. From the view of momentum of development, the better industries were the tobacco industry, cattle breeding, antler industry and forest industry. And with the good momentum of development, the antler industry was chosen an the characteristic agriculture industry.Last part was the study conclusions and recommendations.
