As the external environment continues to improve, farmer cooperatives develop rapidly, especially in more developed areas like Jiangsu and Zhejiang. But in Jiangsu Province, the development of farmer cooperatives still face problems of small scale, policy support not in place, administrative control too much, lack of capable people, shortage of funds and the weekness of service funtion. As the "alliance" organization developed by a certain number of individuals according to certain principles (or structure), members’ identity and loyalty are important for the formation of farmer cooperatives and ongoing operations. Organizational commitment is an adhesive between members and farmer cooperatives. Without it, farmer cooperatives not only can’t succeed in the competition with other IOFS, but also can’t survive. Therefore, the study of organizational commitment is very important to promote the development of fanner cooperatives. As these reasons, with the analyst of the problems in the development of farmer cooperatives and the unique characteristics in the paper, I carry out research into organizational commitment and influencing factors of it. This thesis reviews the domestic and foreign scholars’ theoretical research of organizational commitment and farmer cooperatives. The main elements of the organizational commitment is divided into three dimensions: affective commitment, normative commitment and continuance commitment. Then we present five factors, i.e., personal factors, organizational factors, government factors, trust factors, cognition an demand factors, which is an analytical framework of this thesis. Finally, factor analysis and binary Logistic regression method are used to find the relationship between organizational commitment and the influencing factors. The results show that: cognition an demand factors, organizational factors and confidence factors have significant effects on the affective commitment. Cognition an demand factors, organizational factors, personal factors and government factors have significant influence on non-native commitment. Cognition an demand factors, organizational factors and government factors have significant influence on continuaaice commitment. Factor analysis showed that cognition an demand factors are mainly determined by members’ cognition of farmer cooperatives and the demand of the interests. Organizational factors are determined by the farmer cooperatives’ scale, efficiency, level and the need for members shares. Personal factors are mainly determined by members’ age, educational level and position in the fanner cooperatives. Government factors refer to government support of cooperatives. Trust factors refer to members1trust to the president of farmer cooperatives. Based on the conclusions, several advices are suggested to promote the development of the policy of cooperatives organizatinal commitments. Firstly, we should make "the law of farmer cooperatives" better realized by farmers to improve farmers’ sense of participation. Secondly, we should train farmers more to improve their educational level. Thirdly, we need to pay more attention to the cultivation of members to improve members’ trust to the president. We also should increse members’ income to improve the satisfaction and loyalty. A wide range of high quality services should be provided to further improve the satisfaction of members. Government should provide more support for the development of cooperatives to create a favorable cexternal environment.
