Research Of Kunming Urban Village Reform At Present Stage

Urban city, a universal problem arising from the process of urbanization of Kunming and even the whole nation, is faced by the government and issues like what role the government, acting as both a designer and administrator should assume, and how to achieve a reasonable and mutual-beneficial end have become intensively research by the scholars and the government itself. This thesis focuses on the reconstruction of urban city in Kunming and, via field investigation combining with example analysis, points out the problems related to it.By analysing the institution, policy and social factor, the absence of policy and legislation as well as the abuse, underuse, and overuse of government power have been suggested as the main reasons for such problems。 Through the discussion on the role played by the government in the process of urban city reconstruction, this thesis concludes that the function of government is to plan, guide, coordinate, provide service and supervise.
