The paper is mainly about establishing a system of standardized equipment maintenance management, which aims at solving the problems in current equipment management and maintenance. Taking ET company’s equipment maintenance management as the background and with the company’s promoting project management as the turning point, the paper aims at achieving scientific, standardized management of equipment. The paper tries to set up the system in a comprehensive thought of standardized equipment maintenance management.The paper, combining the current situation of ET company, finds out some problems in equipment maintenance management by applying the tool of systematic, progressive theories. The following are the problems:(1)Sudden faults of companies’equipment can affect the production plans which may even cause severe results like not meeting the deadlines. Many companies have a weak consciousness of preventive maintenance, so the afterward maintenance work takes most of their work.(2)They do not have a common sense of backup management, which often make their equipment stop just to wait for backups(3)The cost of repair is quite high.(4)Operators can not do a standardized work in independent maintenance of equipment; and there are problems of incorrect operations.The research studied the equipment downtime and spare parts spending of Company ET between2009and2011. The statistical results showed the annual equipment downtime and spare-part spending increased year by year, that the equipment downtime of2011was two-fold as the2009downtime, and that without measures for improvement, the company will be confronted with major loss in effectiveness. Investigation and analysis on the status quo of equipment maintenance in Company ET revealed that despite substantial investment on the automation, preventive care, and spare-part management, the absence of an integral system significantly retarded the effectiveness in maintenance. Therefore, to establish an integrated, standardized and institutionalized equipment maintenance managing system becomes imperative.There have been multiple theoretical and conceptual studies on equipment maintenance management, both domestic and foreign. However, studies with instructional value that are closely related to practice are sparse. Maintenance management of mechanical processing equipment in hydraulic industry has been poorly addressed. In view of Ihis, this paper based itself on advanced equipment maintenance management theory, navigated through the stages of the life cycle of project development, took advantage of the TPM lean manufacturing method, and explored the three aspects of equipment maintenance management in Company ET: maintenance automation, preventive maintenance, and spare-part management The study also conducted risk analysis and assessment, provided approaches for establishment of integrated, standardized and institutionalized work flow, operation protocol, regulations, and eventually a whole managing system in order to achieve modernized and scientific maintenance and management of equipmentThe paper will not only help improve the management and performance of Company ET, but also provide significant insight to similar mechanical industry.
