A Research On The Relationship Of Business Ethics And Organizational Performance In China

The overall level of China’s enterprise management is not in a high level in the marketeconomy now, and also facing some moral failure, which restricts the sustainabledevelopment of enterprises. For example, the incident that melamine detected in the SanluMilk shocked the world, and subsequently unclosed were the waste oil, lean, Sudan Ⅲ andother events, and without exception, such issues cause social chaos, bad effect, and bringenterprises into adverse situations. These phenomena reflect the substance of not only theerror behavior in order to make profit, it is also beyond the economic sphere, and it comes tothe point of business ethics, reflecting the serious phenomenon of loss of business ethics. Formodern enterprises, the pursuit of organizational performance is not just simply profit, andcorporate ethics can’t be abandoned because of the excessive pursuit of immediate profit.Long-term of overlook on corporate ethics will inevitably attenuate the performance andsustainable development or enterprises. Therefore, the study of business ethics andorganizational performance is a pressing issue.In the situation of economic globalization, new challenge faced by modern enterprises ishow to maintain our edge in a global competition. The core competitiveness of enterprisesenables businesses to maintain long-term advantage. And business ethics makes the source ofcore competitiveness of enterprises, which is the foundation of business management, whichpromotes the sustainable development of enterprises.Understanding the importance of business ethics is the prerequisite of moralityconstruction aiming at the moral failure of the modern enterprise, in order to improveorganizational performance. Construction of business ethics in China started late, and weexperienced a transition from planned economy into market economy system. We arerealizing the necessity and obligation of corporate ethics, and our level of business ethicsneeds to be improved.This study, on the basis of theories of domestic and international business ethics andorganizational performance, aims to address such problem mentioned above, and analyze therelationship between business ethics and organizational performance, also put forward thetriangle theory model. In view of China’s corporate ethics failings phenomena and influence,as well as the causes of morality loss, this study analyzes principle and ways to reshape thecorporate ethics. At the same time, real examples are here to illustrate the problem, and twoexamples of widely positive and negative influence are also applied to facilitate our furtherstudy, so as to provide support to our construction of business ethics.
