The private SMEs rose quickly since Opening up and become the essential portion of national economy. The rapid development of private economy has become a major force of the national economic growth, providing employment opportunities and maintaining social stability. While in recent years, the private SMEs encounter tremendous pressure, it is a challenge to find a way for SMEs to get out of the trouble and face the competition with a new attitude.Generally, there are4main factors influent the development of private SMEs:capital, technology, management and human resources. The factor of capital becomes less and less important with the reforming of China’s financial system and broadening of financing channels, while the improvement of technical and management level depend on the human resource, in the final analysis, the human resource is the key factor that influent the development of SMEs. Recruitment and selection is the entrance of human resources, it determines the quality of corporate human resources. Generally speaking, recruitment and selection become more and more important in the human resource management with the business grows, the recruitment and selection will directly affect the success or failure of the company development.This paper focus on the private SMEs in the Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Area(HEDA), stating the current status of recruitment, analyzing the common problems in its recruitment, finding out the reasons, then providing the countermeasure for improvement, hope it can do help to the optimization work of the private SMEs in HEDA.In conclusion,1. Recruitment status:great human resource from the Higher Education Park which is near by, supported by district government, but still SMES in HEDA lack of highly educated personnel, titled professional personnel and senior professional personnel.2. The problems of recruitment for private SMEs in HEDA are:lack of planning, failed to understand the position requirements, recruitment channel and selection method are simplified, unregulated during recruitment, unprofessional of recruiters, lack of evaluating and no human resources reserves.3.The reasons that cause the problems above are:there is misunderstanding to the recruitment for the senior management, there are problems with human resource department, SMEs do not have enough competitiveness for talent.There are3optimization measures of the recruitment for private SMEs in HDEA. Firstly, entrepreneurs should change the concept, pay more attention and learn recruitment. Secondly, optimize the recruitment department, make it work efficiently. Finally, improve the welfare, system and culture of the company, to attract more talents.
