Total factor productivity is not only an important index of economic efficiency measure, but also an important index for the measure of the economic growth potential.Since the reform and opening up, China’s economy has maintained a rapid growth, but this year the government work report said that in2012the gross domestic product expected growth target is7.5%, which is China’s gross domestic product growth expected target below8%for the first time in eight years. WenJiabao said:"This adjustment, its main purpose is to really make growth transferred to rely on scientific and technological advancements and improving the quality of workers, and realize the growth of high quality, truly benefit the readjustment of the economic structure and change the way of development. We lower speed mainly to structure adjustment."So in this economic and policy situation analysis of it are particularly important.This paper first summarized the method in measuring total factor productivity by all scholars, and given a simple introduction to several often be used methods, then this paper chosen through Solow residual method to estimate China’s total factor productivity, and gain the conclusion that China’s total factor productivity growth increasingly stable of steady growth.And then, based on the numerical of the total factor productivity we have achieved, using the linear multivariate regression analysis analyzed the influence factors of the total factor productivity.When choosing the influence index of total factor productivity, because discussing the effect technology progress and industrial structure to total factor productivity is the emphasis of this paper, so in the many influence factors of total factor productivity, we have chosen two level indicators technical progress and industrial structure on purpose, and then put the technology progress into independent innovation and technology import two secondary indexes, the industrial structure is divided into two secondary indexes,they are the second industry in gross domestic product and the third industry in gross domestic product. Finally through empirical analysis we concluded that the pull function of technological progress to total factor productivity is far less than the role of upgrading of the industrial structure to total factor productivity.Finally, on the basis of empirical analysis, this paper first analyzed and summarized the problems which consist in the total factor productivity, and pointed out the cause which may be led to the problem, and at the end puts forward some relevant policy suggestions to enhance the total factor productivity growth of our country.
