Colleges and universities as the guide of knowledge creation, dissemination andapplication, have the function of conforming and integrating Science, technology andtalents. In the process of development of society and economy, its high-level ofscientific and technological achievements and elites play a huge role all the time. Withthe constantly reforming of the higher education system and proposing the strategy ofrejuvenating the country through science and education, higher education of ourcountry has been developed into the era of "mass education" from the era of " eliteeducation", and it is developing rapidly and will keep moving forward quickly. It’scommon occurrence that the phenomenon of merger, adjustment, enrollmentexpansion, extending the original and building the new teaching building in collegesand universities in this period, the land of colleges and universities is in great demandand expands rapidly. As the problems of land appear repeatedly and become more andmore seriously. Taking the way of the intensive development to make the limited landplay a bigger effect and ease the problem is the inevitable choice. Based on the abovebackground, this thesis studies on evaluation on intensive use of education land, andtake Jilin University as a representative example to carry out land investigation, analysis, intensively utilizing appraise, etc. This article not only can know well theland use characteristics like the intensity and the structure, but also can found theproblems of land use and discuss the appropriate way to resolve it. It can provide thebasis for the government to unveil the relevant rules and regulations, managementmechanism and land use standards, and provide references for the future planning andconstruction of colleges and universities, it has a certain practical significance topromote the type change, improve the efficiency and adjust the structure and layout inland use.Based on the analysis of the intensive use connotation for the education land of colleges and universities in China, this thesis explores the driving mechanism and thedevelopment direction of intensive land use of colleges and universities, and perfectsland classification system of colleges and universities according to the function ofland and the survey of Jilin University, and analyzes the status, the structure, theintensity and the bearing strength of land use in Jilin University. On account of that, this thesis constructs an evaluation system of intensive use, determines the weightvalue and standard values of the objectives and targets by using the combination of avariety of methods, and conducts a quantitative research on the intensive use degreeof education land by the multi-factor assessment method and the fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method, and estimates the potential of intensive land use in Jilin University. Finally, it summarizes the main problems of land use in Jilin University and putsforward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. The results show that:(1)The intensive use of the education land in colleges anduniversities is mainly driven by the factors of nature, economy, demography, technology, policy and institution and so on, and develops to urban marginalization, gathering shared, three-dimensional, compacting and other directions;(2)It is inaccord with the function of teaching, scientific research and social service of collegesand universities in Jilin University that the proportion of school building land islargest and the intensity and the bearing strength of land use are higher. Due to theinfluence of the homogenization from the land use structure and function in theurbanization process, the city life and service functions of the education land arehighlighted and the proportion of non-teaching land is larger, but the developmentspeed of infrastructure is lagging behind the expansion speed of students scale;(3) thescore accounting to results of intensive use for the education land in Jilin Universityshows that, up to the evaluation point, in the multi-factor assessment method and thefuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the comprehensive scores of intensiveutilization are88.47points and83.69points, they are basically consistent with eachother. The intensive use level of the education land in Jilin University is higher, landresources development and utilization is more sufficient and development intensity ishigher. But the land use structure and the input-output intensity are the main factorsthat constraint the intensive use level of the education land in Jilin University;(4) The Comprehensive potential of intensive land use in Jilin University is273.94hm2,among them, the expansion potential is35.00hm2, the structure potential is76.67hm2, the use intensity potential is24.69hm2and the input-output intensity potentialis137.58hm2. The Comprehensive potential is great to meet the recent demand ofland use in Jilin University;(5)In Jilin University, the small and whole construct isvery common and function layout is confusing in campus, and now the problem ofvehicle surge and venue shortage has emerged. While land use structure differencesare significant between the different campuses affected by the professional setting, soit is difficult to form an unified control standard. The campuses are too discrete tointegrate resources and form land economies of scale;(6) This thesis scientificallyevaluates the intensive use comprehensive level of the education land in JilinUniversity on the micro level. It can provide the basis to unveil the relevant laws, regulations and policy, form land use standards and set up dynamic evaluationplatform. It remains to be further in-depth study, how to more scientifically andreasonably choice the indicators to reflect the land use efficiency, establish a widelyused control standards for land use in colleges and universities, and further refineevaluation on intensive use of education land.
