Technology innovation is one of the most important powers that accelerate thedevelopment of economy and the main mean that can be used to solve these issues in natureand society. In order to effectively guide innovation, more and more researchers focused onthe process of technology innovation, pointing out the process of technology innovation is anevolutionary process which is structurally similar to the process of biological evolution. Butthese studies just simply proved that technology innovation is an evolutionary process andthere are mutations and selection in this process. The foundation of biological evolution ismutation heredity and mutation. However, before the genetic theory, we had never understoodthe essence of the heredity and mutation of biological individuals and the theory of evolutionhad just been a hypothesis. In order to deeply understand the theory of technology evolutionand the process of technology innovation, this paper analyzed the process of technologyinnovation in the perspective of genetics. It proved that technology is hereditable becausetechnology can also reproduce coming with the replication and transfer of genetic information.Base on the process of technology innovation, this paper studied the details of informationreplicating and transferring in this process, finding out the underlying elements of technologyreplication and transfer are knowledge and intelligence of human. When genetic informationis being transferred from parental generation to filial generation, technology will changebecause of the conditions that can affect this process.Technology is not an entity and being with its carrier. When it comes to technology, thefirst thing occur to us is production and production is an important carrier of technology. Theaccumulation of the amounts and species of production is the result of technology mutation soproduct plays an important role in the analysis of technology heredity and mutation. In otherhand, technology is the key factor that affects product performance and to some extent,technology can be viewed as genetic material of production. In the process of productioninnovation the changes of technologies can cause the changes of production performance. Thevariation of gene contains gene recombination and gene mutation. Of course the variation oftechnology is more than one, including technology gradual change, technology mutation andtechnology recombination, proved by cases analysis of touch-screen technology.In the process of product development one of these technology mutations can beintroduced in order to generate new technology and new product. This paper provedtechnology mutation can accelerate production innovation through questionnaire investigation.Technology development is very important in the process of product development. Thispaper proved that the key of technology development is to find out a new technologyresolution using the thinking of genetics. Considering that technology can be seen as codedknowledge, technology is generated on the foundation of existing knowledge set. Base onexisting knowledge set, an original technology resolution had had been proposed. Then troughtrials and errors the resolution has been adjusting until it is satisfied. In this process newknowledge will emerge and will be added to knowledge set to expand it. It is key fordeveloping new technology to generate new knowledge and recode existing knowledge soenterprise need focus on knowledge management based on the characteristic of knowledge.Given different mutations of technology, enterprises can find out the most proper way todevelop new technologies considering the resources needed of each mutation and the state ofenterprise.
