China’s automotive industry has reached nearly twenty million in2012. Theautomotive industry has developed into a pillar industry for the Chinese economy, andthe automotive industry has played a crucial role in the development of the Chineseeconomy. With the acceleration of the globalization markets process, competitionamong enterprises has become increasingly fierce. In order to gain a competitive edge,manufacturers have to seek advanced production management methods to improveproduction efficiency and reduce production costs.This paper first introduces the lean production theory and the leveling productiontheory. These two theories is widely used in foreign as well as domestic automotiveindustry today, The concept of lean production theory derived from the ToyotaProduction System, and integration of industrial engineering theory and modernmanagement concepts, today’s lean manufacturing has been developed to leanlogistics, lean design and so on. Leveling production not only to achieve theequalization of varieties and number, but also to ensure the equalization of logisticsand time, so leveling production marks the production management achieve a seniormanagement stage.When the car production satisfy the premise of lean production and levelingproduction, The application of the production information technology can furtherimprove production efficiency and reduce production costs. This paper introduced therelated theory of ERP, and introduced theory of production management information.This paper then proceed from the status of FAW Car Company, from productionplanning, production master database, production operating instructions and job shopscheduling to analysis and design of production information system, and build theinitial framework of the production information system.On the basis of build the initial framework of the production information system,this article describes the production planning capacity model switching and job shopscheduling models mixed-flow arrangement algorithm. Finally, this paper appliedthe system model in three aspects of production planning, production master databaseand job shop.
