In our national economy, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) not only play a vital and irreplaceable role, but also the important growth point of our national economy. SMEs provide a lot if employment opportunities, make an indelible contribution to China’s economic development. However, with the financial crisis spread worldwide, as well as the intense competition between enterprises become more and more increasingly, China’s economic development has been a major impact. Enterprises need to enhance their competitive strength in face of the crisis, even resolve it. Product innovation is the basic starting Point to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises. Competitive in new products have become one of the core areas in competition, many enterprises seek higher standing, more market share and new market territories by the strategy of product innovation. They acquire sustainable competitive strength by continuous development of new products.As product innovation is reflected by the way of product novelty, this article is based on the consideration of above situations, to study on the relationship between product novelty and innovation performance, and the moderating effect of environmental effect. First of all, it summarizes the research both at home and abroad, and then put forward a concept model and assumption, divides produce novelty into market novelty and technology novelty two dimensions, as the same, divides environmental dynamism into market and dynamism. Second as the manufacture enterprise be the research object, do empirical research through questionnaire survey. The results show:manufacturing enterprise’s market novelty promotes innovation performance, technology novelty may reduce innovation performance; technology dynamism improves product’s innovation performance which has higher technology novelty, however market dynamism does not have this effect.For the result of this article, in light of enterprises, they can strengthen innovation management on their products, and correspondingly enhance their own ability to innovate. In term of the government, it may implement effective policies to support innovation and guide the healthy development of the SMEs.
