The transfer of rural labor force is an influential overall issue, which is also a very important issue relating deeply to the survival and the employment status of farmers. The reasonable and orderly transfer of the force of rural surplus labor to the city and non-agricultural industry is an important way to promote agricultural development and increase farmers’income as well as to build a new socialist countryside. At the same time, it’ s also the internal requirement of narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas, and promoting the urbanization level of rural areas, as well as expanding the domestic market demand. Xinjiang is a relatively underdeveloped area mainly inhabited by local ethnic minority groups, which at the same time has a great potential for economic development and broad prospects for development. Xinjiang is now in a crucial period of accelerating the construction of new rural areas and the comprehensive construction of a well-off society. The future development of Xinjiang and the development of it’s role need the support of the rural labor force by transferring employment continuously. This paper mainly elaborates the current economic and social development of Xinjiang and the rural labor force and their basic situation. It also analyses the current situation and the characteristics as well as the problems of the transfer of rural labor force in Xinjiang, and analyses the obstacle factors of transferring rural labor force employment, and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote the transfer of rural labor force employment.
